While we do the majority of our cooking during the week, we often save the weekends to spoil ourselves. Only over the past few years have we really explored Sacramento and the different restaurants it has to offer. I'll save some of our favorites for future entries, and just focus on Taro's right now. Taro's is a little off-shoot of Mikuni and it's at the Arden Fair Mall. It's got fun drinks, great bartenders and pretty excellent fish. The downside? It shares a wall with Barnes & Noble.
So after a few "Mikuni Cosmos" (Absolut Vodka & plum wine...and I'm sure some other ingredients) as pictured here:
My sweet husband says, "Oh, do you mind if we just walk through Barnes & Noble?" (He really thought we'd walk through the store and not buy anything.)
Of course I don't mind! Because on this trip, I walked out with this gem:
You guys! This is so amazing! I really hope you have a Trader Joe's near you. If you don't, then you need to move somewhere where they DO have one. They are a specialty grocery store with lots of fun foods at really great prices. This is the only place I go for saffron, crab meat, and other completely random items it's hard to find anywhere else.
The recipes in this cookbook have ingredients you can buy at Trader Joe's. They look super yummy AND easy!
I've got a grocery list set and am so ready to cook tomorrow night!
If you want to order the cookbook, you can get it here (at even a better price than I did!):
